The Danube Cycle Route Passau - Bratislava is considered the origin of all long-distance cycle routes in Europe. Flat and traffic-free you experience the charming landscapes of the Danube Floodplains National Park. Monasteries, castles, palaces and baroque towns lie along the way.
Itinerary
Friday: Individual arrival at Passau
Individual arrival in Passau by train or car | transfer from the Donau Touristik parking lot or Passau train station to the ship approx. 4.30 pm
Saturday: Schlögen - Linz (56 km)
Handover of rental bikes | from the natural spectacle of the Schlögener Schlinge to Linz | optional: late afternoon concert on the Bruckner organ in Linz
Sunday: Linz - Grein (57 km)
From the ship, the cycle path leads directly into the country- sidepast the castles of Pragstein, Wallsee and Greinburg.
Monday: Ybbs - Wachau Dürnstein (59 km)
From the gothic town of Ybbs you cycle beautifully via Gottsdorf and Emmersdorf into the Wachau along the vineyards past the famous wine-growing village of Spitz to Dürnstein
Tuesday: Wachau and Vienna Forest (47 km)
Through the Wachau to Krems (UNESCO World Heritage Site, Gozzo Castle, Kremser Pfennig, Piarist Church, Old Town, etc.) | continue to the flower town of Tulln | lunch on board and by boat further on to nearby Vienna | individual sightseeing of the city of waltzes | optional: guided bus tour of Vienna (2 hours) after dinner
Wednesday: Vienna by bike (27 km) or Danube Floodplains National Park (68 km)
Individual sightseeing of Vienna, possibly by bike (traffic-free cycle path to the pedestrian zone) | optional: visit the Vienna Museum of Art History | lunch on board or packed lunch for active version | National Park boat trip to Hainburg and Bratislava | active version: traffic-free Danube Cycle Path through the national park via Wolfsthal to the centre of Bratislava
Thursday: Wachau and Strudengau (52 km)
possible visit of the famous Melk Abbey | past Pöchlarn and Freyenstein to Grein
Friday: Disembarkation / Passau
till 10 am | bus transfer from the ship to the Donau Touristik parking lot or Passau train station and journey home

MS Primadonna
The luxurious cruise liner, the only one on the Danube to fly the Austrian flag, was built in Germany in 1998 and underwent a general overhaul in 2009. The spacious facilities – the hotel hall is 60 meters long – is a lively place to meet people and socialise and includes the panoramic restaurant "Primagusto", the panoramic bar "Primaaperitivo", the Danube arena "Primavista" and the "Primatheatro". There is airconditioning on the entire ship (and are individually adjustable in the cabins). The second largest Danube cruise ship is 113.5 meters long and 17.4 meters wide. The architecture makes a stay on the MS Primadonna a first class experience, with the interesting double hull design (catamaran), the 6 meter high bow ventrification, as well as a glass floor in the reception, which draws one's attention to the underwater world. There are a Jacuzzi, sun chairs and cosy seating arrangements on the outdoor deck. The spa area offers a large, indoor Jacuzzi, a Kneip pool and a sauna. Massages are available by advance reservation.
Cabins
All 80 Cabins on the MS Primadonna are outside cabins with individually adjustable air conditioning, with shower and toilet, hair dryer, satellite television, telephone, mini-bar and spacious wardrobes. The main deck cabins are approximately 12 m2 and are equipped with a large, unopenable porthole. The spacious cabins on the upper and promenade decks are appr. 16m² and are equipped with a balcony with bench seat.
Gastronomy
Sophisticated, international standard with specialities of the Danube countries, especially Viennese cuisine. The meals are prepared primarily with organic ingredients. In the morning, there is an American breakfast buffet with an organic food corner. For lunch, there is a light, 3-course, a la carte menu or a packed lunch for cyclers. In the evening, there is a 4-course a la carte menu and once a week there is a large gala buffet. In late afternoon, we offer tea or coffee and cake. Additionally, there is a "Primadonna Snack Bar" in late evening.

Excursion package
Concert on Bruckner organ in Linz, city tour of Vienna, ticket for Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna (minimum 20 participants). Some excursions can also be booked individually, subject to availability and according to the price list on board (e.g. Vienna city tour 1.5 hours approx. €50).
Route profile
The tours go through flat terrain, occasionally slightly downhill, ideal for leisure cyclists, beginners and children. You cycle on the fully constructed Danube cycle path; in the Danube Tour, you also cycle on country roads.
Meals on board
On board, you will be spoilt with international specialities from the Danube countries, especially Viennese cuisine. Meals are mainly prepared with organic food. In the morning, an American breakfast awaits with organic offerings. At noon, there is a light 3-course menu of your choice for all guests staying on board or a packed lunch for cyclists. In the late afternoon, tea or coffee and pastries await you. In the evening, a 4-course menu of your choice is served and a ‘Primadonna snack’ at the end of the day in the late evening.
Drinks packages cannot be booked on the Primadonna.
Good to know
Timetable and programme subject to change due to local conditions (including high water, low water, bad weather, etc.) at the discretion of the 1st Captain. Bike excursions, shore programmes and arrival and departure times may also be affected.

25% for up to 2 children up to 15.9 years in the parents' separate adjoining cabin (main deck only)
Arrival
By car: Private car park in open air area in Passau bookable incl. collective transfer of guests & luggage from the car park to the ship. (Transfer time from car park approx. 16:30, from Passau train station possible on request approx. 16:45. You will receive the exact times with your travel documents)
Travelling by train WITHOUT your own bikes
Arrival at Passau main station and collective transfer by bus at a fixed time (at approx. 16:30, guests and luggage) from the station to the ship.
